One of my favorite memories from my childhood is driving out to my mother's farm and cutting our Christmas tree. It was a special occasion each year and we all loved the adventure of hiking out into the pine forest, kids running wild through the snow, with dogs bouncing out in front, all in search of that year's holiday center-piece. And while we're not heading to mom's farm in Ohio any longer, we do have ideal opportunities here in the western Catskills to pick our own tree. And now, as then, we make it a special trip each year, with the kids, the dogs and the handsaw.

Brady's Christmas Tree Farm

This is our go-to spot for the past five years. It is simple, easy and always has gret trees. The Brady's offer excellent prices, and anything extra you can share he donates to the Boy Scouts!

Families can choose and cut their own tree, but for those who need help, assistance and pre-cut trees are available. The farm also sells a variety of other products for the holidays, including reefs and kissing balls. Open 10am-4pm daily.

The Hawley Family Tree Farm has been offering local families the unique and enjoyable experience of picking out and cutting their own fresh Christmas tree for over 20 years. From the weekend following Thanksgiving all the way through Christmas Eve, visitors are welcome to come to the farm, search for the perfect tree, then warm up in our cabin with homemade cookies, cider, and hot cocoa. Open 10am-5pm on weekends.
